SEATTLE FACTOID #6
Seattle has erected more cranes for construction than any other city in the United States for three consecutive years since 2016.

The downtown core of Seattle continues to evolve ad infinitum. Believe it or not, the majority of the high-rise buildings and glass towers in the lower three-quarters of the image above did not exist a decade ago. This constant face-lift to the neighborhood provides a unique (and fun) challenge for cityscape photography of Seattle in terms of staying up to date with images of the ongoing evolution — even more so with the demolition of the Alaskan Way Viaduct!

Seattle’s multiple cranes also resemble large lightsabers from the “Star Wars” franchise!
I haven’t watched any “Star Wars” films in several years, but looking at the photo above, when I viewed the city at this vantage early one December morning, I couldn’t help thinking how downtown Seattle’s several, omnipresent cranes, brightly illuminated in so many colors, resemble the popular, blazing lightsabers from the movie franchise.
