A Pictorial Ode to those Glowing Sunset Embers of Late September

If you lived in Seattle on the evening of Friday, September 24, 2021, then you were probably a witness to one of the most mesmerizing sunsets we had this year. I wasn’t expecting it, so I was thoroughly caught off guard as I was cycling on Melbourne (that’s my bike’s name) north on Dexter Avenue between the neighborhoods of downtown and South Lake Union. As I approached the new Apple building campus, my vision was suddenly confiscated by the magnificent beauty Mother Nature had bestowed upon the Emerald City.

I’m on a quest to be less verbose in my blog postings, so in this case, I will let the pictures supply the words. The first set of images primarily feature the Space Needle from Dexter Avenue. These photographs were captured with Alpharetta (that’s the name of my extraordinarily handy Sony A6000 camera that comes along with me on every bike ride — and executes my timelapse photography projects too). The glass building to the right is part of Apple Inc.’s new Seattle campus.

Less than 10 minutes later, I also used Alpharetta to capture the second set of images, featuring the fountain pool at Lake Union Park. Interestingly, there used to be a time when the Space Needle exclusively dominated the horizon of this landscape. Within the last decade, the city’s most renowned landmark has acquired new neighbors nearby. Fortunately, none of them have significantly interrupted the visage of the iconic Needle.

That’s all.

I hope you enjoyed the images.
