First and foremost, TIA would like to take a moment to wish all of you a pleasant and peaceful holiday season at the conclusion of one of the most challenging and strenuous years for Planet Earth and its inhabitants.
Living in Seattle for almost 14 years, I have developed quite a collection of photography featuring Seattle during the holiday season. Originally, I had planned to share some personal favorites from previous years. However, I managed to spend a few hours in downtown Seattle this month to photograph any signs or hints of a festive, holiday mood or ambiance. Contrary to my expectations, there were plenty of holiday vibes flourishing the city center. Without a doubt, the holiday mood and spirit are significantly subdued this year on account of our collective realities in 2020. Nevertheless, observing the holiday decorations and lights in different parts of the city center was heartwarming and inspirational in spite of the circumstances.
As a result, I’ve chosen to share some new holiday images with you instead. The only exception is the cityscape immediately below, featuring the Seattle skyline along Lake Union as it appeared on Christmas morning in 2019. I find it incredibly charming and decided to incorporate this specific image within this blog entry.
(Why not set the mood for viewing the following galleries with a classic Christmas carol from The Ronettes?)
